Recognized for Eco-friendly Activities

SK Holdings C&C won the Carbon Management Sector Honors in the industrial materials category for the second consecutive year at the 2022 CDP Korea Awards held at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul on Feb. 10.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a not-for-profit charity that runs a global disclosure system to induce investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

SK C&C received a Leadership A- grade for two consecutive years in recognition of its various eco-friendly improvement activities to cope with the problems of climate change.

This year, 40 companies including SK Hynix, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Shinhan Financial Group were included in the leadership list in the CDP’s climate change response evaluations.

The company is pumping up its efforts to attain net zero. It joined the RE100 in 2020 and the Science-based Target Initiative (SBTi) in 2022.

In June 2021, SK C&C set 2040 as the year to achieve net zero, 10 years ahead of the global carbon neutrality target year of 2050, and announced a net-zero implementation roadmap. Since then, the company has been carrying out various activities such as securing solar power generation facilities and purchasing green premiums, running eco-friendly data centers, disclosing its Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) report, obtaining global environmental management system (ISO14001) certificates and reducing carbon emissions in daily life through a smartphone application for the realization of social values.
