Supreme Prosecutor’s Office International Cooperation Agency (Head: Park Kyung-Chun) announced that the former vice-president of Geopyung Na Sun-ju who caused 400 billion won of damages to the company by loan scams and frauds and fled to US 14 years ago will be prosecuted after he voluntarily enters back in Korea nest month.

In October last year, he was arrested by US HIS (Homeland Security Investigations) on suspicion of illegal residence in the United States and recently appealed his willingness to immigrate back to Korea voluntarily.

He fled to US while he was on investigation into alleged misappropriation in Apr.1999 and APB went into effect in Dec. 2000. HIS investigated that he stayed in the states illegally as his passport and visa expired and propelled enforcement to expel him from the States in cooperation with U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office International Cooperation Agency which was launched in Jan. 2010 had signed a MOU with 16 countries, 21 institutions such as Chinese Ministry of Public Security and CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency), etc. are tracking and arresting offenders who fled abroad.
