A Recognition of Sincere ESG Efforts

Shinhan Financial Group announced on Feb. 9 that it has been included in the Platinum Club of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Korea for two consecutive years.

The CDP is a global project commissioned by global financial investment institutions to induce major global companies to disclose information related to their climate change responses. It publishes an annual report based on the information.

Shinhan Financial Group received the Leadership A/A- grades for nine consecutive years from 2013 and became the first Korean financial company to join the Carbon Management Sector Honors Club, then entered the CDP Hall of Fame in 2018. This year, it became the first Korean financial company to be included in the Platinum Club for two consecutive years.

“This successive inclusion in the Platinum Club is the result of Shinhan Financial's sincere efforts to respond to climate change and realize carbon-neutral finance,” said Cho Yong-byoung, the group's chairman. “We will accelerate ESG management and strive to spread positive influence.”
