CNN Today, a morning news program of CNN International, introduced the CJ Group’s Korean food brand “Bibigo” on May 22, the CJ Group said.

CNN pointed out Korean food as a potential driving force of the Korean Wave, the CJ Group said.

Kim Chul-ha, CEO of CJ CheilJedang, and Jung Moon-mok, CJ Foodville's CEO, said the companies are trying to adjust Korean food to global markets while maintaining its uniqueness.

The “Bibigo” brand is aimed at not only the food business, but cultural business, they said.

Michael Holmes, a CNN anchor, said that Korean food suits the current global trend where healthy foods are becoming popular, as he had seen CJ CheilJedang’s cooking of Korean foods such as Bulgogi Burgers, chicken, and Mandu Salad, the company said. 

The CJ Group is aimed at being a leading global lifestyle company, with Korean cultural products such as Korean movies, music, and food, it said.
