A Hyper-connected Smart Home

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics showcase their smart home technologies at CES 2023.

At CES 2023, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will showcase smart home technologies that connect home appliances with devices outside a home.

A hyper-connected smart home is expected to emerge as the most popular subject at CES 2023.

For several years, Korean tech giants such as Samsung and LG have been demonstrating connectivity among their own devices inside a home using the internet of things (IoT). At this year's CES, they are expected to demonstrate connectivity among appliances from different companies and with devices outside a home.

The HCA, an alliance of 15 home appliance brands such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Electrolux, and Haier, will also demonstrate how to connect and control electronic products of different brands with apps from different manufacturers at CES 2023.

Samsung Electronics set up the largest exhibition hall among CES participants at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Korean tech giant did not prepare a separate space for new products for the first time this year, but placed its new and existing products together with those from other companies without any boundaries.

In particular, this year, LG Electronics will show products with new functions such as LG Mood-up Refrigerator which can change its colors with just one touch on LG ThinQ App of smartphones and UP Home Appliances that can be better used with the addition of new functions. The company will take the wraps off the second generation of LG Signature premium home appliances for the first time in seven years, and a minimal design home appliance concept that will never go out of fashion.
