Earns B+ Rating from KCGS

Kumho Tire has won a silver medal from Ecovadis, a French ESG evaluation platform. 

Kumho Tire announced on Dec. 6 that it has obtained a silver medal from Ecovadis, a global ESG evaluation agency. The tire company has also won an overall B+ rating from the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).

Ecovadis is an ESG evaluation platform in France. It is used by more than 100,000 companies in 175 countries around the world. It awards a silver medal to a company which ranked in the top 25 percent or higher in its ESG evaluation.

The KCGS conducted environmental (E), social (S), and governance (G) evaluations on 1,000 listed companies this year. Kumho Tire received B, A and B grades, respectively, obtaining a B+ grade overall.

Ecovadis gave high points to Kumho Tire in terms of a roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 and SBTi membership, Scope 3 emissions calculation and the establishment of GHG Inventory, human rights education, work-family balance, improvements in flexible work style and supplier ESG management and purchasing manager training.
