The New Zealand, British, and Australian Chambers of Commerce in Korea will jointly host the 2015 Rugby World Cup Charity Dinner at the JW Marriott Banpo’s Grand Ballroom on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Guests will enjoy keynote addresses by Graham Henry, coach of the 2011 Rugby World Cup champion New Zealand All Blacks, and Olympic gold medallist Chang Mi Ran, who will speak on sporting excellence.

“Having Graham Henry and Chang Mi Ran speak at our charity dinner is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Kiwi Chamber Chairman Simon Walsh. “We expect well over 300 people from the local community to take part in this special night to remember.”

The event is designed to promote the sport of rugby ahead of the world cup event, which will be from Sept. 18 to Nov. 1, 2015. The event will select one Korean child to carry out a match ball for the World Cup's upcoming Uruguay vs. Fiji match, as part of a group of 40 children worldwide to represent their countries then.

The dinner will also generate funds for charities and the development of local sport. Top auction and raffle prizes will include DHL-sponsored VIP tickets to the opening ceremony and England vs. Fiji match, along with use of a new Land Rover courtesy of Land Rover Korea, hotel vouchers, signed sporting memorabilia and much more. Societe Generale is also a proud sponsor and will provide tickets to New Zealand vs. Tonga and flight tickets for the Korean child and guardian to visit England.

AustCham Chairman Graham Dodds commented, “Rugby is an important social and cultural factor that brings the Commonwealth Chambers together and AustCham is pleased to be a supporter and a participant in this unique event.”
