To Share Latest Radiation Dose Assessment Technologies

Participants in the ARADOS-KREDOS joint annual meeting in Seoul

The Radiation Health Center of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) held the 2022 ARADOS-KREDOS International Seminar at the Vision Hall of the Central Tower in Seoul from Nov. 2 to 4.

ARADOS stands for Asian Radiation Dosimetry Group, which is an international meeting of radiation dose assessment in which Asian countries participate. The Korea Retrospective Dosimetry Network (KREDOS) is a research group organized by major Korean research institutes related to nuclear energy and radiation, such as KHNP, the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety and the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science and colleges and universities, to strengthen expertise in radiation exposure dose assessment.

This international seminar was held to exchange the latest dose assessment technologies among Asian countries for the purpose of improving practical response capabilities in the event of a radiation emergency.

About 70 domestic and foreign radiation experts participated in the seminar where they shared the current status and system of radiation dose evaluations in Korea, China and Japan. In addition, Professor Michael Discher and Professor Clemens Woda of the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS) spoke on the status of the EURADOS and emergency radiation dose assessment. Researchers from China and Japan made presentations on their research progress online.
