Global Companies Promote Cooperation in AI

Bae Soon-min, head of KT's AI2XL Research Center and leader of the SCFA AI Task Force, announces the opening of Global AI Conference 2022 on Oct. 26. 

KT announced on Oct. 27 that Global AI Conference 2022 was successfully held online on Oct. 26. 

The conference was hosted by the AI ​​Task Force (AI TF) of the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement (SCFA), a consultative body of the three key telecom operators in Korea, China and Japan -- KT of Korea, China Mobile of China, and NTT Docomo of Japan. The AI TF held the event to promote cooperation in the AI ​​field between telecommunication operators and global companies and secure global cooperation channels for AI startups.

The conference ran in two sessions -- Global Telco Giant and Global Tech Giant. AI experts from global telecommunication and big tech companies such as KT, China Mobile, NTT Docomo, Telefonica, and Google made presentations in each session.

In particular, it was live-streamed on YouTube KT’s official channel, recording the maximum number of concurrent viewers of about 2,100, drawing much attention from participants around the world.

In the first session, Telefonica delivered a keynote speech on a 360-degree view of AI in business, social, ethical and climate environment. KT made a presentation on its metaverse platform Genieverse and open research portal Genie Labs.

The second session introduced Google’s innovation cases in the communication field, Oppo’s Metaverse intelligent mobile device technology and Xiaomi’s AI applications for mobile and IoT terminals.
