LG Display participated in Innotrans 2022, the world’s largest railway technology fair which is held in Berlin, Germany, from Sept. 20-23. During the fair, the Korean display giant showcases transparent OLED solutions for railways, which provide new boarding experiences for customers.

Innotrans is an exhibition that displays various railway industry-related technologies and equipment. This year, more than 3,000 companies from 60 countries participate in the fair.

LG Display set up a booth and showcased transparent OLED displays for the train windows and entrances and the ticket office.

The transparent OLED displays for the train windows (55-inch) and entrances (30-inch) allows passengers to access train operation information, weather forecasts, and news while looking at outside scenery through the windows.

In addition, when a train passes famous landmarks and tourist attractions, information and advertisements related to them can be displayed directly in the window, like augmented reality (AR), to provide new experiences to customers.

LG Display developed this product in collaboration with global industrial glass companies AGC and Gauzy. This product is resistant to shock and vibrations and shows clear pictures while the train is on the ground or underground.

The transparent OLED display for the ticket office replaces a glass screen between station staff members and customers with a transparent OLED display with a high-sensitivity touch function, allowing customers to quickly and accurately recognize information, such as train schedules and tickets, by touching the screen according to station staff members’ instructions.
