Followed by South Korea and Nepal

Vietnam, South Korea and Nepal were the world’s largest instant noodle consumers in 2021.

Nongshim said on June 30 that Vietnam, South Korea and Nepal were the world’s largest instant noodle consumers in 2021. That year, the instant noodle consumption per person was 87, 73 and 55 in the respective populations.

South Korea was the largest consumer until 2020 and Vietnam’s figure exceeded South Korea’s last year. According to the company, this is because Vietnamese are refraining from dining out due to COVID-19 and their purchasing power is increasing based on their country’s rapid economic growth.

The instant noodle market of Vietnam is growing at a rapid pace. It became the third-largest market in the world in 2020. Last year, the consumption in the Chinese market was 44 billion, followed by Indonesia (13.3 billion) and Vietnam.
