SK Group has carried out an annual reshuffle involving a total of 117 executives, including 108 new executives and nine presidents.

The group said on Dec. 5 that the executive reshuffle for 2020 is characterized by stability in the group’s top posts and a generational change in the level of executives in charge of business divisions at affiliates. The reshuffle is aimed at overcoming uncertainties in the global management environment and increasing the ability to execute a “deep change,” according to the group.

Four of the 16 major affiliates that comprise the SUPEX Council will have new CEOs. In particular, Park Sung-ha, an expert in strategic planning and investment, was named as president of SK C&C, the de facto holding company of SK Group. He will be responsible for making another leap for SK C&C based on his experience in discovering and developing successful growth engines at the group level.

It is also noticeable that a significant change was made in heads of the teams in the SUPEX Council and divisions at major affiliates. Seven of the 13 teams in the SUPEX Council have new heads. Most of them are vice presidents and senior executive directors.

"A new executive system introduced this year has helped young and innovative executives move forward to key positions, eliminating seniority and rank barriers, facilitating the placement of executives, and expediting a generational change." an SK Group official explained.
