Cosmetics Brands Exclusively for Sale on Tmall

Amorepacific Group will strengthen cooperation with the Alibaba Group by launching exclusive products for Tmall, a Chinese-language website for business-to-consumer online retail operated in China by Alibaba Group.

Amorepacific Group agreed to set up Amorepacific X TMIC Innovation Plant with Alibaba Group. Through this, Laneige and Mamonde will launch products exclusively for Tmall early next year.

The agreement was signed between Amorepacific CEO Ahn Se-hong and Liu Bo of Alibaba Group who is in charge of marketing for Timall and Taobao at Amorepacific headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul on Dec. 5.

In September, Amorepacific Group signed an MOU with Alibaba Group in Hangzhou. To work closely in big data-based consumer research and new product development, the two sides agreed to open a cooperative office named “A2 Hangzhou Camp” near the Alibaba Xixi Complex in Hangzhou, China.

The two companies have created a more detailed collaborative process then and the first result is an agreement to establish Amorepacific X TMIC Innovation Plant. In the future, the two companies will closely cooperate in the development and distribution of products tailored to the Chinese market.
