The E·Land Group has started the construction of a global chain network of hotels and resorts.
The group had its groundbreaking ceremony and began renovation of the Palms Resort Saipan into Kensington Hotel on April 7. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by 100 participants, including Vice Chairwoman Park Sung-kyung, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Governor Eloy S. Inos, and other state government figures.
E·Land has become the largest company in Saipan, controlling more than 700 rooms in its three hotels and resorts in the state alone, including Coral Ocean Golf Resort, PIC Resort, and Palms Resort acquired in 2011.
Palms Resort consists of a total area of 38,801 square meters divided into 313 rooms, all with an ocean view. It is located in Pau Pau Beach, which is known for having the most beautiful scenery in Saipan.
In particular, the company is planning to attract large numbers of Korean and Chinese tourists, which are rapidly increasing from last year, through the synergy effect of the three resorts. Together, the three properties will give the company a scale suitable for the global luxury hotel and resort chain.
The E·Land Group is the nation’s largest global chain with a total of 24 hotels and resorts in not only Korea but also China and Saipan in its hotel and leisure business division. By 2020, the group aims to foster the division as the number one company of the hotel and leisure sector in Asia, and one of top 10 in the world.
E·Land Group said, “By transforming Kensington Hotel Saipan into a representative recreation hotel for families in the west Pacific region, we pave the way for global market expansion in the hotel and resort business division.”
