Open Cloud-based Platform

SK C&C announced on March 23 that it will expand its core solution, NEXCORE, as a cloud-based open platform, accommodating the change of new technology trends. It hopes to establish an ecosystem to develop applications for businesses in earnest.

NEXCORE is a development platform product brand that SK C&C has been developing since 2008 in order to improve productivity and the quality of an enterprise application. It has helped improve the environment of domestic IT system development focused on foreign-made products.

The open development platform NEXCORE, which will be re-created as a Platform as a Service (PaaS), maximizes openness by embracing various external sources and technique elements. It also allows anyone to easily select necessary items for development and utilize the platform.

Using NEXCORE, developers can freely combine various development tools they want at home and abroad and build the project development environment, regardless of the size and type of projects, including the development of web pages and mobile functions for large next-generation systems.

All development sources will be managed on the NEXCORE platform, and they won’t leave any sensitive information, except in the personal computer of the developer. Therefore, there won’t be any risk of source code leaks while using them.

Kim Eun-kyung, director of converging technology headquarters at SK C&C, said, “If you develop using the cloud-based open platform NEXCORE, you can reduce project development costs, escape from vendor dependence, and improve flexibility and expandability. You can also drastically improve the level of development security. We will make efforts for the NEXCORE to strengthen its position as a core development platform that can raise the standard of not only SK C&C but also domestic IT services.”
