To Build a 50 MW Fuel Cell Power Plant

KEPCO KPS signed a three-party cooperative business agreement with FuelCell Energy of the United States and Yujin Fuel Cell Power on June 23 to promote a 50MW fuel cell power generation project in the Iksan Third General Industrial Complex.

FuelCell Energy is a global leader in the design, manufacture, operation and service of ultra-clean, efficient and reliable fuel cell power plants. It operates the Gyeonggi Green Energy Fuel cell park, the world’s largest fuel cell park located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The park consists of 21 power plants providing 59 MW of electricity plus district heating to a number of customers in South Korea.

Yujin Fuel Cell Power is the operator of the fuel cell power generation project in the Iksan 3rd General Industrial Complex, located in Iksan City, North Jeolla Province. 

KEPCO KPS will implement engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the project, Yujin Fuel Cell Power will be in charge of project development and operation, and FuelCell Energy will supply molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs).

The construction of the fuel cell power plant will be carried out in two phases, and the power plant will run for 20 years after completion.
