The largest domestic low cost carrier (LCC) Jeju Airlines, an affiliate of the Aekyoung Group, won first place in the LCC sector of the 2015 Korean Industry Brand Power Investigation (K-BPI) organized by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC) on March 9. The K-BPI, which commemorates its 17th anniversary this year, has started to investigate the LCC sector for the first time.

Jeju Airlines got 611.4 points out of a total of 1000 in Brand Power Investigation, ranking first by a difference of 150 points over the following second airline. By recognition level, it won 43.1 percent of the initial recognition and 93.3 percent of the assisted recognition, respectively, showing a national recognition level.

An official from Jeju Airlines said, “The reason why we won first place in the K-BPI Brand Power is mainly due to establishing a global safety management system fit for the standard of international airlines including an IATA Operation Safety Audit certification, implementing active digital marketing activities through videos, and providing cheap air freight services through cost reductions.”
