A train that Hyundai Rotem had exported to the United States recently collided with a trailer, but the shock absorption system in the train significantly reduced the number of injured.

According to Hyundai Rotem, the train left Oxnard Station in California at around 5:00 am, Feb. 24 (local time) and collided with a car before arriving at a Camarillo Station. Four passenger cars were derailed and turned over.

A total of 85 passengers and three crew members were on the train, but the number of the injured was limited to 28. “The collision energy management system in the train saved the people’s lives,” said Richard Katz, Los Angeles Metro Board member.
