Grapefruit Rice Wine
The iCing brand rice wine of Korean traditional liquor producer Kooksoondang (CEO Bae Jung-Ho) was selected as the “Best of Show” in the Sake Division in a prestigious U.S. wine competition.
Kooksoondang submitted its iCing rice wine (sake in Japanese, makkeoli in Korean) in the Sake Division at the International Eastern Wine Competition 2015, which was held in Sonoma County, California, last month.
The rice wine received 3 awards at the competition – Double Gold, Best of Class, and Best of Show.
Double Gold is awarded as the best product in each division. Best of Class is awarded to the best of the products that won the Double Gold, and qualifies the winner to compete in a final competition.
The Best of Show awards a medal and trophy to the best products in each division among products that participated in the The East Meets West Final Competition.
About 1,100 products all around the world, including North America and Europe, entered the competition. iCing was selected as “Best Sake” in the final of the Sake Division among the 9 divisions at the East Meets West Final Competition.
Marking the 41st annual competition this year, the International Eastern Wine Competition, established in 1975, is one of the oldest and largest professional wine competitions in the U.S.
