YuYu Expansion

Marking the 74th anniversary of its founding, YuYu Pharma, Inc. will strengthen its global market invasion.

With employees, including its Chairman Yu Seung-pil, attending the celebration at its headquarters in Seoul on Feb. 27, YuYu Pharma announced its plan to strengthen the global network and develop new drugs.

Yu Won-sang, vice president of YuYu Pharma, said, “With the slogan of 'One Step Ahead,' the company mostly focused on new medicine development, played the leading role in the internalization of technology and business, and pushed ahead with exemplary management and ethical management.”

He said, “YuYu has turned into the pharmaceutical company which developed and owned two advanced new medicines, including Maxmarvil, the world’s first new incrementally modified drug for osteoporosis, and the anti-thrombotic Yuclid. Taking this opportunity, the company proved the superiority and the safety of the domestic new medicines to the world.”

The late Chairman Yu Teuk-han established YuYu Pharma (Yuhan Trade Co.) in 1941. The incumbent Chairman Yu Seung-pil is well regarded as someone who established the advanced management system, which is the foundation of the corporate growth.

YuYu Pharma manufactured the Yupaszid, a medicine for tuberculosis in 1955, contributing to tuberculosis eliminations, and developed the Venapollo, the nation’s first multivitamin in soft capsule form, in 1965.

Based on YuYu Malaysia established last year, YuYu Pharma will aggressively diversify its business, targeting the global market.

Also, it is planning to discover new business in emerging markets, including Indonesia, and expand global networks.
