The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on May 19 that it told six automakers to recall 64,754 cars and the six companies are Hyundai Motor Co., Kia, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Porsche Korea, Volkswagen Group Korea, and Ford Sales Service Korea.

According to the ministry, the cars include five Hyundai and Kia models that are 58,397 in number and the cars may slip on a slope when parked on it due to an electronic control software error.

The cars also include 2,043 Mercedes-Benz cars divided into 21 models, which showed corrosion at brake vacuum pump cover joints. According to the ministry, the corrosion may lead to vacuum pressure leakage and insufficient braking.
