In the Government Summit 2015 held at Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Feb. 9, Yoon Boo-keun, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics, stressed, “Samsung Electronics has strengthened its current position in the global market through drastic innovation based on the company’s three pillars – Product, Process, and People.”

He introduced how Samsung Electronics made innovations. He said that Samsung delivered an unprecedented mobile experience to consumers around the world with its innovative smartphones. Also, Samsung changed conventional thinking about LED TVs with its ultra slim designs and high definition technology, while it created totally different consumer values with its premium refrigerators.

Yoon said, “In order to innovate, a bold decision to get out of the safety zone, an eagerness to fix the problems and a sense of ownership are needed.”

He also emphasized, “The Internet of Things holds infinite possibilities to provide solutions that enrich our lives and change our society and country. In order for the Internet of Things to succeed, cooperation not only across the industries but also with the government is critical.”

With the event as momentum, Samsung Electronics is planning to build stronger relationships with the Arab world, a population of 37 million, by strengthening its B2B businesses such as System Air Conditioning, as well as actively expand its Internet of Things (IoT) business in the region.

Meanwhile, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, opened the 3rd Government Summit this year.

The event is a prestigious conference in the Arab region, which shares expertise and advanced cases from the world’s leading companies and government agencies. President Yoon was the first Korean CEO to deliver a speech in the event.
