Securing an integrated management system and the synergy effect for its global operation

For Korea National Oil Corporation or KNOC (CEO Kang Young-won), this year marks the final year for the 5 year plan “Great KNOC3020” and the first year for “Post 3020” vision.

KNOC has been propelling towards self-sufficiency rate of 20% and is about to reach the target with the Great KNOC 3020 completed and the Post 3020 beginning.

The Post 3020 is KNOC’s new ambitious platform to leap into top 50 oil exploitation company which will secure daily production of 300,000 barrels and 2 billion barrel deposit by securing internal stability and external expansion.

To start up the Post 3020 strongly, Korea National Oil Corporation hosted the meeting of "2012 Global KNOC Steering Committee” on January 27 at the headquarters located in Anyang City, Kyeonggi Province in order to construct an integrated management system and produce the synergy with its overseas affiliated companies which the company had acquired since its embarking on the policy of enlarging its operation.

Fifteen representatives from their overseas subsidiaries attended the meeting, including the top managements of global petroleum companies such as Dana(UK), Harvest(Canada) and Ankor (US).

The conference included presentations and discussions on the “Plan for Affiliated Companies’ Participation in the Headquarters’ M&As and Acquisition of Production Assets to Realize the GREAT KNOC 3020,” the “Direction of Promoting Petroleum Trading,” and the “Global Management of Human Sources,” etc.

The participants shared opinions regarding the ways to construct a global management system along with discussions on external and internal pending issues.

CEO Kang urged a close cooperation between the headquarters and affiliated companies to establish and implement the Post 3020 strategy and realize the vision to be a “Global State-run Oil Company Beloved by the People.”

Though major domestic private companies have hosted similar conferences targeting oversea top managements, KNOC is the first public company to host such a meeting on a regular basis, doing its best to become a true advanced global company.
