To Issue NTFs for Webtoons and Web Novels
KT will launch a non-fungible token (NFT) service in March. The company plans to provide new experiences to customers by combining NFTs with various assets, starting with web novels and webtoons.
KT announced on Feb. 8 that it will start the KT NFT Beta Service (tentative name) in March, a platform that issues NFTs and distributes NFTs using content owned by KT affiliate StoryWiz.
KT will issue NFTs for content produced and distributed by KT Group through the NFT beta service and provide additional benefits related to the content. It has opened a website that allows users to apply for the reception of notices on the opening of the KT NFT beta service.
KT will utilize the content of StoryWiz, a web novel and webtoon content company, for the issuance of its first NFTs. It plans to publish various content of StoryWiz by utilizing NFTs in the future.
