Samsung Venture Investment has invested US$10 million in Early Sense, an Israeli venture firm producing medical sensors.

According to industry sources, Early Sense recently raised a fund of US$20 million, and 50 percent of it was provided by Samsung Venture Investment.

Early Sense’s developments include a sensor that measures and records a patient’s respiration, pulse, temperature, and blood pressure under the bed mattress, a monitor showing patient information at the bedside, and a display panel showing the medical records of 36 patients at the same time.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, Samsung Electronics introduced the company as an Internet of Things firm in close collaboration with a variety of sectors, and said that it was working on combining Early Sense’s medical products with its home appliances.
