Hyundai Motor Group More than Doubles Patent Applications in Three Years

Thomson Reuters IP & Science said in a recent report that the Hyundai Motor Group is showing the highest increase in the number of patent applications in the global auto industry these days.

According to its survey on patent applications between 2009 and 2013 in the five technology fields of driving, handling, car navigation, vehicle safety, and security and entertainment, the Hyundai Motor Group took the third spot in the overall rankings. “Hyundai increased its number from 500 to 1,200 between 2010 and 2013,” it explained.

It was Toyota that topped the list. Bosch followed Toyota, and Hyundai was followed by Honda, Denso, Daimler, and GM.
