Acquisition of Global Brand

The U.S.-based company was established in 2007 in Portland, in which product developers such as Nike, Patagonia, and Adidas made direct investments.

Nau had 119 sales channels in the U.S. and Canada, and 12 channels in Europe including in England, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Black Yak acquired 100 percent of Nau's shares with US$15 million.

It began to sell Nau products in the first half of the following year in the domestic market, and plans to eventually launch shops simultaneously in China and other Asian countries.

CEO Kang Tae-sun said, “Black Yak will create new Korean wave in the global outdoor market which is led by Europe and U.S. by acquiring Nau, and it will compete with global brands by reinforcing Black Yak's global business.”
