From Jan. 4 to 12, Standard Chartered Bank dispatched Eye Camp Expedition, the bank’s overseas volunteer group, to Tien Giang Province, the poorest region of the nation. The expedition campaigned against visual impairment and helped with construction.

The Eye Camp Expedition, which began in 2007, is a part of the “Seeing is Believing” program, a global social responsibility program of Standard Chartered Bank. It participated in volunteer activities for disadvantaged blind people in Asia and Africa 29 times.

Nguyen Thi Tie, vice chairman of the National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, said, “The hard labor of the Eye Camp Expedition contributed to economic and cultural development in Vietnam.”
