Securing Blood Plasma

 

Green Cross America (GCAM) opened its sixth blood center on Jan. 6 (U.S. time).

The blood bank is located in Twin Falls, Idaho, and can store a maximum of 50,000 liters of good quality blood plasma. IT can also provide a maximum 30 liters of blood plasma of good quality annually.

President of GCAM Bae Jae-hyun said, “We plan to establish four blood banks additionally in the mid-western region of the U.S. within this year, and establish 20 by 2017 and 30 by 2020.”

Meanwhile, the company will begin the construction of a Canadian blood plasma derivatives factory in the first half of this year targeting the North American blood plasma derivatives market. GCAM plans to finish the construction of the factory and register the products with the Canadian health ministry by 2019.
