LG has unveiled its new 5.5 inch G Flex 2 smartphone at CES 2015 in Las Vegas on Jan. 5, 2015 (local time).

The company is planning to tackle the global market after releasing it in the Korean market this month. The smartphone has improved its durability by 20 percent, and its full HD plastic OLED (P-OLED) display provides a much clearer picture compared to the previous model, the LG G Flex.

The LG G Flex 2 is powered by a Qualcomm 64 bit octa-core chipset, the Snapdragon 810, which supports 3-band LTE-A services. Carrier-Aggregation (CA) applied LTE-A is 4x faster than the original LTE, and allows speeds of up to 300Mbps, or a 1GB movie in just 27 seconds.

Other features included in the LG G Flex 2 are also notable.

LG has improved the “self-healing” feature from the original LG G Flex. The improved self-healing feature heals scratches in 10 seconds, according to the company.

The other remarkable feature is “Gesture Shot.” It enables users to capture a 1.5 meter-away subject with a simple hand gesture in 3 seconds.

Also, its “fast charging” feature charges the battery up to 50 percent in 40 minutes, while other batteries with the same capacity require 55 minutes to get to 50 percent.
