Korean Government to Promote Cloud Migration of Public Agencies from 2022

The Ministry of Science and ICT held Grand Cloud Conference 2021 on Dec. 8. There, the ministry and cloud companies shared their achievements and discussed their future.

At the conference, the ministry said that its third cloud industry roadmap would be implemented next year and the roadmap would focus on more private cloud use in the public sector, industrial ecosystem enrichment for a higher level of competitiveness, and introduction of more IaaS and SaaS.

“Government agencies and public institutions will go cloud together with the private sector and procurement- and budget-related systems will be improved for more convenient switching,” the ministry said, adding, “Transfer to private cloud will start in postal, education, medical and defense systems.”

In addition, the Korea Cloud Industry Association and the Korea Software Industry Association formed a council that day so that more competitive services can be produced in the domestic cloud industry.
