Ranked 2nd with Market Share of 23.8%
Market research firm SNE Research said on Oct. 28 that the global use of electric vehicle batteries was 195.4 GWh for the first three quarters of this year, up 130.8 percent from a year ago.
LG Energy Solution recorded a market share of 23.8 percent with 46.5 GWh. It fell 0.7 percentage point in one month. CATL increased its market share by 0.9 percentage point in one month to 31.2 percent and remained at the top of the list with 60.9 GWh. Panasonic and BYD came in third and fourth with 13.3 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively.
SK Innovation and Samsung SDI accounted for 5.4 percent and 4.6 percent of the market, respectively. Their market share gap increased from 0.5 percentage point to 0.8 percentage point in one month. The combined market share of the three South Korean companies fell 1 percentage point last month.
