The 6th Korea Exhibiting Forum will deal with various issues surrounding the exhibition and convention industry

THE 6th Korea Exhibiting Forum will be held from Dec. 17 to 18 at COEX under the theme of “Convergence.” The forum will provide differentiated contents for the success of the convention and exhibition industry of Korea and the widest place of networking.

The forum is the biggest event in the Korean exhibition and convention industry participated by Korea’s major convention centers such as COEX, KINTEX, BEXCO, EXCO, K Fairs, Korea Trade Fair, Korea E&X and the Korea Industrial Marketing Institute (KIMI). In addition, visitors from Japan, Thailand and Singapore will take part in the forum to make this year’s event more globalized and specialized.

The Association of Korea Exhibition Industry (AKEI) aims at developing the forum into a world-class event in the world exhibition and convention industry on a mid and long term. This forum will be held simultaneously with the KOREA Exhibition Expo and therefore, is expected to promote the development of the exhibition and convention industry. Various participants will have a chance to exchange information and opinions with one another and to get inspired.

The first keynote speech will be delivered by Tad Ishizumi, president of Reed Exhibitions Japan and chairman of the Japan Exhibition Association on the first day. Ishizumi will explain about the secret of how his company have made every exhibition a success and achieved 14 consecutive years of growth. In the second session, Trevor Foley, CEO of Tfconnect of the UK, will speak about convergence case study heaven.

Michael von Zitzewitz, chairman of the Borard of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH of Germay will deliver a lecture under the title of “Convergence as Key for Future Growth.” “Convergence of Exhibition/Tourism” is the title of the fourth session whose speaker will be Patrapee Chinachoti, president of Bankok Exhibition Service of Thailand and president of the Thai Exhibition Association. In the fifth session, Stefan Decker, CEO of P.O.S. Creative Media GmbH & Co. KG of Germany will speak under the title of “From Inspiration to Staging.”

On the second day, Clemens Schutte, managing director of Messe Dusseldorf GmbH of Germany will talk under the title of Strategic Alliance as Drivers of Growth and Success in the sixth session. The speaker for the seventh session is Simon Burton, a managing director of Exposure Communications of the U.K. who will deliver a lecture on “Total Convergence; New Formats, New Opportunities and the New Economy.” The eighth session is the last session of the forum led by Rohit Talwar of Futurologist of the U.K. under the title of “The Future of Exhibition and Conferences.”

The forum will offer two special programs for participants. The Welcome Cocktail Reception & Dinner will be hosted to celebrate the opening. It will be the largest of the Korean exhibition industry with representatives of government agencies, foreign ambassadors to Korea and international participants in attendance. Opinion leaders and key figures or industry at home and abroad such as representatives and professionals of exhibition venues and exhibition companies will participate as well. At the event, participants will be able to network with domestic and international professionals. It will include a reception, a dinner, a photo zone event, a congratulatory performance and other activities.

The second program is more unique; an excursion to go to a traditional Korean wine brewery. It is called “rice wine” that made of 303 meters underground in natural mineral water from 303 meters underground and sagebrush are used to make the wine. The red wine is fermented drinks steamed with rice, barley and wheat flour mixed with yeast and water. Ginseng is also used and is characteristic of wine from Ganghwa. All of them are widely recognized as the best of materials for their quality. Forum participants will visit the brewery that is known for developing traditional Korean wine. The wine is great for health and wellness.
