South Gyeongsang provincial government (Gyeongsang Namdo) and SK Telecom signed a MOU regarding "a paperless conference" and "a smart office"

Gyeongsang Namdo (GSND) and SK Telecom will realize a paperless meeting by supplying 1,000 units of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for the 10th UNCCD (UN Convention to Combat Desertifica-tion) meeting to be held in Changwon city from October 10.

The GSND government and SK Telecom announced on September 5 that they exchanged an MOU for holding the 10th UNCCD as “a paperless meeting” and establishing “a smart office environment for the GSND.”

The UNCCD is an international meeting to prevent the deforestation and desertification due to climate change. The UNCCD is one of the three major environmental conventions and will be attended by about 3,000 or so VIPs such as heads of states and ministers from 194 countries.

GSND will prepare the event as a paperless eco-friendly meeting in accordance with the purpose and meaning of the event. GSND is planning to develop an application for the meeting while supplying the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to participants. Moreover, GSND will build an exclusive wired and wireless internet network in the Changwon Convention Center, the venue of the meeting and run an IT support center for the meeting.
