According to industry sources and Samsung Electronics on Dec. 10, Samsung's first virtual reality headset, the Gear VR Innovator Edition, was sold out only one day after its introduction to the U.S. through its official online store on Dec. 8 (local time).

A Samsung official remarked, “As thousands of orders were placed after its launch, the Gear VR was temporarily unavailable. But it is now possible to purchase the product throughout the U.S., thanks to additional supplies.”

The virtual reality device was developed in partnership with Oculus VR, an affiliate of Facebook.

The Gear VR works only with the Galaxy Note 4, and it uses the Note 4 for its image processing and display functions. When the mobile device is inserted into the headset, the wearer can experience virtual reality in 360 degrees with 3D video.

This product is aimed at virtual reality software developers and early adopters, and it is sold at US$199.
