Metro Project in Qatar

Lotte Engineering & Construction (E&C) obtained an order for a metro construction project worth US$121.96 million in Doha, Qatar.

The Qatar Railways Company placed an order for Red Line North Project, which is building a 6.7 kilometer Red Line in Qatar's metro, from the Qatari capital of Doha to the north section of Qatar.

Lotte E&C will construct this project, which costs US$609 million, jointly with Rizzani de Eccher of Italy and Redco of Qatar (60 percent for Rizzani, 20 percent respectively for Lotte E&C and Redco) including elevated and ground metro lines, tunnel excavations and stations. The construction will begin at the end of this month and take 43 months to complete.

Upon this opportunity, the company will actively take part in the planned projects in Qatar, including road construction and drainage facilities in five areas of Qatar - northern and southern Qatar, and northern, southern and western Doha.
