Lucid Motors Sets a New Record in EV Driving Range

Lucid Motors recently set a new record in terms of EV driving range, and Rivian recently released the world’s first electric pickup truck. Both use batteries manufactured by South Korean companies.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition Range received an official EPA rating of 520 miles of range on Sept. 16. It is currently the longest EV driving range in the world. The previous world record is 652 km of the Tesla Model S Long Range, which uses Panasonic batteries. The Lucid vehicle uses Samsung SDI batteries.

The official EPA ratings of the Lucid Air Grand Touring and Dream Edition Performance models are 830 km and 724 km or more, respectively. These models are equipped with batteries manufactured by LG Energy Solution.

In the meantime, Rivian released the first R1T electric pickup truck in Illinois on Sep. 14 to become the world’s first electric pickup truck seller. The model has an official EPA rating of 505 km and is equipped with Samsung SDI battery cells.
