Smartphone Ownership

 

South Korea topped the rate of office workers' smartphone ownership among 24 major countries.

Global online travel agency Expedia said on Nov. 17 that 94 percent of Korean office workers have , based on the result of a survey targeting 8,556 adult office workers from 25 countries.

The survey was conducted on 304 Korean office workers, 503 U.S. workers, 1,001 Canadians, 500 Indians, 406 Italians, 403 Germans, 408 British, 400 Australian, and 302 Japanese.

Mexico (92 percent) had the second-highest smartphone ownership rate following Korea, followed by Hong Kong (91 percent), Singapore (91 percent), Thailand (91 percent), and the United Arab Emirates (89 percent).

On the other hand, the country with the lowest rate of smartphone possession was Japan (51 percent).

Among the countries, 91 percent of Korean office workers took their smartphones on overseas business trips, marking the highest percentage among 25 countries.

Furthermore, 94 percent of Korean office workers travel overseas with their mobile devices such as smartphones and laptops, which is again the highest percentage among 24 countries.
