First EPC Project in Russia Won by a Korean Builder

Hyundai Engineering will build gas treatment facilities including LPG separation facilities in Orenburg, Russia.

Hyundai Engineering announced on June 14 that it has signed an EPC contract worth 100 billion won with Novi Potok, a Russian private oil company, to build gas treatment facilities including LPG separation facilities in Orenburg, Russia.

In June, Dennis Parsler, governor of Orenburg, and the head of Hyundai Engineering's Moscow branch will attend the groundbreaking ceremony, and full-fledged construction will begin.

The Russian Orenburg Gas Processing Plant project involves building a gas refinery, utilities, and auxiliary facilities in the Orenburg region of Buzuluk, 1,500 km southeast of Moscow, Russia. The project will run for 22 months.

This order is the first Russian EPC project won by a Korean construction company. Industry analysts say that Hyundai Engineering could land the project as the client recognized its technical skills and performance in the design of chemical plants.
