Mobile content provider Bookpal unveiled its free mobile messenger, Bookpal Talk, on Oct. 16 via Google Play.

Based on the open source Telegram source code, the messenger service allows communication with existing Telegram users and provides emoticons and free stickers made by local web cartoonists.

Also, the connection time display function that many Telegram users dislike is not available in Bookpal Talk.

“At first, the Bookpal Talk was designed for communication between Web novel writers and readers, but we came up with an open service for everyone at this time so that Telegram users can use the emoticons and stickers that they wish,” said Kim Hyung-suk, representative director of Bookpal.

The company is going to unveil an iOS version of the service in the near future, too.
