Contrary to Self-praise

Hyundai Motor's new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), "Staria," unveiled as an ambitious work in 22 years, has been embroiled in a controversy over its quality one month after its launch. This is because its windows were frequently broken by shocks when its doors were closed.

Second-row panoramic windows were damaged by the impact from closing rear sliding doors on some of the Staria "Tourer" model. This has happened to hundreds units of the model.

The Staria comes out with a one-body window inspired by borrowed scenery in traditional Korean architecture on its side. Looking from the side, it created an image of a window occupying about half of the model. The Tourer model features a "tilting" panoramic window that pushes a window open aslant.

These design and structure are blamed on window damage. The Staria chose a typical structure of MPVs, but the size of its window is too large to handle the impact from closing its door.
