Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg visits Korea on October 14 to meet Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong. This is the third time, the second in 2014 alone, that they will have met each other.

According to industry sources, the Facebook CEO is going to discuss mutual cooperation in the wearable device sector and many more, along with their advertising and marketing strategies and the development of another Facebook phone. Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Samsung Electronics IT and Mobile Division President Shin Jong-kyun are scheduled to accompany them.

Mark Zuckerberg and Lee Jae-yong first met each other in June last year, when the former visited the Samsung Electronics building in Seoul. They met again at the Allen & Co. Media Conference in early July this year in Sun Valley, Idaho.

The industry anticipates that the two global IT giants will discuss strategies for advertisement, marketing, and cooperation in the mobile sector at the meeting. There is also an observation that Facebook would develop a “Facebook Phone” in alliance with Samsung Electronics. Earlier, the two companies cooperated in making the Gear VR, a virtual reality wearable device.
