Individual Investors Net Buy 185.07 Mil. Shares in Q1

The number of minority common shareholders in Samsung Electronics is close to four million.

The number of minority common shareholders in Samsung Electronics increased from 2,153,969 to 3,867,960 in the first quarter of this year. The number increased by more than 2.5 million in one year and approximately 3.3 million in 15 months.

Individual investors’ net buying in Samsung Electronics amounted to 185.07 million shares in the first quarter of this year alone, when institutional and foreign investors’ net selling amounted to 112.47 million and 76.02 million shares, respectively. The first group’s shareholding in the company rose from 6.48 percent to 9.5 percent in the first quarter and exceeded 10 percent this month.

As of the end of March, the Samsung Group owner family and the National Pension Service owned 21.18 percent and 9.74 percent of the company, respectively.
