GM Korea Reports April Sales of 21,455 Units

GM Korea sold 21,455 vehicles in April -- 5,470 units domestically and 15,985 units at overseas markets.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Chevrolet Spark led the company’s domestic sales last month. 

The Trailblazer became the brand’s best-selling model in Korea once again in April with 2,020 units delivered, enjoying another month of success in the compact premium SUV segment. GM Korea joined forces with hip-hop artist Jay Park for the second time, creating the “SUMMERIDE” collaboration title track and a new commercial film. Both showcase the Trailblazer’s youthfulness and sensuality.

The Spark sold 1,678 units in the domestic market in April.

On the back of the recent increase in SUV sales and consumers' preference for larger family vehicles for their outings, sales of the Chevrolet Traverse increased 41.4 percent on an annual basis, reaching 372 units last month.

Sales of the Damas increased 86.2 percent from the previous April to 404 units, as the mini-commercial vehicle along with the Labo nears its end of sales later this year.

“Despite the difficulties we’ve had due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the automotive semiconductor shortage, popular Chevrolet products like the Spark, Trailblazer and Traverse contributed to domestic sales growth,” said GM Korea vice president of sales, service and marketing Cesar Toledo. “GM Korea will continue to exceed our customers’ expectations with competitive marketing campaigns and market-leading customer service.”

In May, the month of family in Korea, GM Korea is launching the “Precious Everyday Moments: With Family, With Chevrolet” promotion. During May, GM Korea is hosting special promotions to commemorate Family Month as well as Teacher’s Day and offer interest-free installments, camping equipment and special targeted Family Month programs. In addition, GM Korea has launched its online shop so that customers can purchase vehicles contact-free. The new Chevrolet Camaro SS is available for purchase via the online shop, and a selected number of buyers this month will receive a variety of promotional gifts.
