The Korea Power Exchange has participated in Locked Shields 2021, the world’s largest and most complex international cyber defense exercise involving 24 NATO member states.

Exercise Locked Shields was launched following a 2007 blackout in Estonia, which was recorded as the first cyberwar.

Locked Shields training is primarily a defensive exercise against cyberattacks on major national facilities such as power grids, water networks, and air control networks.

The Korea Power Exchange participated as an operational team that served as the command and control center for the cyber defense training exercise. It supported the NATO Military Command Center by monitoring cyber warfare training situations for power grids, water networks, and aviation networks.
