Samsung Display Starts Production of Smartphone OLED Panels in India

Samsung Display has started producing smartphone OLED panels at its factory in Noida, Pradesh of India.

The company began to build the plant in early 2020 to supply smartphone panels to Samsung Electronics, which has a smartphone plant nearby. It invested about 53.67 billion rupees (about 800 billion won) in this plant, which is scheduled to start operations in the first half of 2021.

The new plant’s production capacity has been under wraps. But analysts predict that its production volume will gradually expand. Panels produced here will be supplied to a nearby Samsung Electronics smartphone factory. Samsung Electronics established the plant in Noida in 2018 by investing US$700 million.
