Technology Theft
It has been found that LG Electronics stole the system air conditioner technology of Samsung Electronics.
The National Police Agency announced on Sept. 22 that it had sent the case of former LG Electronics managing director and manager, only known by the surnames of Huh and Yoon, to the prosecution last month.
They are suspected of having stolen Samsung Electronics’ business plan submitted for the High Energy Efficiency System Air Conditioner Development Project led by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning in 2009.
At that time, both Samsung and LG Electronics submitted their business plans for the competition, and the project went to LG. According to the police, Mr. Yoon obtained Samsung’s data on a USB drive and handed it over to the managing director.
