Mando has signed contracts with China's Voyah and Russia's Gaz to supply parts for advanced driver assistance systems (ADASs). Mando’s ADAS products such as front cameras and front radars will go into Voyah and Gaz cars.
To enter the global ADAS market in earnest, Mando has recently acquired a 100 percent stake in Mando Hella Electronics (MHE), a company specializing in autonomous driving and automotive components, for 165 billion won. MHE was established in 2008 as a 50-50 joint venture between Hella in Germany and Halla Holdings, the largest shareholder of Mando. MHE designs and produces recognition-related parts such as radars and cameras and electronic control units (ECU) such as braking and steering.
Mando is planning to expand its presence in China and India by utilizing its production bases in Suzhou, China and Chennai, India and enter the North American and European markets based on these production bases.
Mando entered the Indian ADAS market and is supplying ADAS parts such as front radars and front cameras for autonomous emergency braking (AEB) devices to Mahindra & Mahindra. Mando's ADAS components will be loaded into Amazone delivery electric vans produced by U.S. electric vehicle startup Rivian. Amazon signed a contract with Rivian to purchase 100,000 electric vans. Mando’s ADAS components will go into the electric vans.
