Advanced Security Concept

The credit card information leakage that occurred in January this year, in which 104 million sets of data were compromised, was committed by Korea Credit Bureau employees who had access to credit card companies for system development. The companies provided them with source data and system access, but failed to monitor them properly.

The incident is just one example of information leakage by authorized personnel, or insiders, which is becoming more and more frequent across the world nowadays. This is why an increasing number of enterprises are turning their eyes toward insider control, access control, personnel security, and physical security against intrusions from outside such as hacking, advanced persistent threats (APT), and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Under the circumstances, security service providers are coming up with convergence security services one after another to shift the focus of the market from physical security to integrated security. For instance, S1 released Enterprise Security, a convergence security monitoring service for enterprise customers, in May. Combining information security services with physical security systems and the the S1 PC Security Solution, Enterprise Security works around the clock to detect network intrusion attempts, information theft attempts, and abnormalities in servers and security logs. Its additional features include monitoring for access control and PC security services.

ADT CAPS, in the meantime, provides the ADT OctaNet for PC and network security along with QRadar for mobile device management, video privacy management, and system security. Access control and building energy management are also added to the functions.

“These days, the demand for better security solutions is on the rise due to hacking, personal information theft, violent crime incidents, and the like,” ADT CAPS explained, adding, “We will take the lead in the fast-growing market with our advanced convergence security solutions like ADT Sight Cube supporting building and energy management, ADT OctaNet, and smart security solution ADT Calm.”
