Samsung C&T's Construction Business Division will introduce next-generation smart home technology based on artificial intelligence (AI). The company plans to commercialize this technology this year at the earliest.

The company unveiled the Raemian Artificial Intelligence (RAI) Life Hall, an upgrade of the Raemian Home Lab-Smart Life Hall, on Feb. 15. The hall introduces AI technologies for convenient life.

The newly opened hall introduces convenient services using future technologies, including AI, robots, and drones. It has also set up specialized spaces such as a home office and a home training space. Samsung C&T aims to commercialize these technologies within 2021 when their verification is completed.

The new hall is largely divided into the public and private sections.

The public section consists of a smart parking lot and public spaces in an apartment complex. Samsung C&T introduced a smart parking system that guides residents to a parking space close to their apartment buildings by recognizing their vehicle numbers and delivery robots which can carry residents’ baggage.

At the entrance of an apartment, visitors' face recognition functions and thermal imaging detection systems are installed, and CCTVs at home can show the growth of plants on smart farms in the public area of the apartment complex.

Information robots with autonomous driving functions are placed in the community to guide visitors to facilities, while unmanned cafe robots make beverages and serve visitors with them in internal cafes.

Inside an apartment house, A.I solutions are applied to existing smart home functions to provide a customized environment according to residents' living patterns. The AI solutions implement the dining, resting, and sleeping environments for residents and make bathtubs receive water at the desired temperature.

Reflecting an increase in home activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Samsung C&T has also created a home office or home schooling space. It is created in the form of a hidden space to increase users’ concentration. The company also introduced a multi-purpose room for various hobbies such as home fitness and watching movies.
